Henrietta Hudson

(59 Ratings)
New York's most popular lesbian bar

Once a crowded nightclub, Henrietta Hudson is now a moody wine bar with specialty cocktails, charcuterie and cheese pairings. Its newly updated interior nods to a midcentury-modern feel typical of any trendy, upscale space in Manhattan. A cross between a living room and a petite cafe, its new look features comfy armchairs, plush ottomans, work nooks, and a social gathering area for community events.

I got a weird impression here, I am a very normal girl, 22 good looking, and was hoping to meet some nice people who are the same. the place was mostly filled with older woman, all dikes, no lipstick lesbians, most of them pretty drunk havin a gay old time. there were some discusting things going on on the dance flour, that I really did not need to see from these ladies. there was one small group of 5 younger, attractive girls so i did have a little fun. but most people were just weird and they gave me neightmares.. people working at the bar ect were ok. maybe it's better on a different night..

Nice place for the women

I went here upon stumbling on this place one night with a lesbian friend. We often go to clubs together. They wouldn't let me in because men have to be on a guest list to keep our numbers in the place down. It took two weeks but I got on the list. Only thing is they demanded that I bring at least two women with me. Well, I only had the one friend but when we got there we saw a group of college aged people hanging out around the corner. We explained our sitch and I offered to pay a cover charge and buy a drink, which a cute young lady took us up on. Very small place but a lot of good looking women as well as the butch crowd. Bar dancers were hot. No cute guys, heck I was the only gayboy in there. Oddly enough I ended up making out with a lesbian all night. It was fun and I just love to make out, most women don't kiss like a man but this one did lol. I'd go again, if I were a lesbian.

rude pill anyone?

I never like to write a review when I have only been to a place once, for the simple fact that there is so much to take in and depending on the night the experience is completely different. BUT...my experience at Henrietta Hudson has made me never want to go again! From the moment I walked to the door I was rudely greeted, as I stepped inside I was ignored at the bar for 10 min while the girl was chatting with a woman who already had a full drink. After getting her attention she made it seem like I was inconveniencing her to purchase a drink. Half hour in, after getting gawked at ,because I happened to be the only one in the place with heals on, I wondered through the dance floor to the other side of the bar where I counted 20 ppl in the place on what was said to be a "popin" Friday night. It was lame. The people were rude and not worth the 10$ cover charge or the 8$ drink. PS: where have all the lipstick lesbians gone?
