The Christopher Street Piers have been notorious for cruising since, well, since gay men have cruised.
Today the city has remade this hotspot into a travel destination with stunning concrete tiled piers that jut into the Hudson, featuring amazing views of the statue of liberty. Two brand new massive Richard Meyer condo buildings look at the base of the piers. You'll still see gaggles of boys sunning themselves and plenty of furtive glances, but the new space does not provide opportunities for actual rendezvous.
Take a walk down Christopher Street, pick up a coffee and sandwich along the way, and you'll be in for a very gay and very special afternoon at the piers.

Queer People of Color are Not Welcome in The Christopher St Piers
This past Sunday June 28th was The 46th Pride March, but the Christopher Street Piers were shut down at 7pm to kick QPOC out. This Piers are ours, they are for our homeless LGBTQI homeless youth. Where are they supposed to go, are they an EYE SORE ? Out of sight, out of mind . We are going backwards. SAVE OUR LGBTQI LANDMARKS !!!
C/Street Pier
While the C/Street Pier had been gentrified and become a mainstream tourist destination, the gay vibe still reigns. Tourists are disappointed if we don't snuggle and kiss. And that view ...
Rememberance of its Heydays!
Lived on Christopher St. in the late 60's & early 70's and again in the mid 80's. The early days it was HOT, but turned luke warm as we moved into the 80's with the removal of the overpasses and trucks. The Street has become a bit too timid as time went on! It lost its real charm and excitement. I was at the Stonewall riots!Time marches on.
Eye candy and relaxation
Spend your day off sunning in the grass of this gorgeous pier. You won't believe the oodles of eye candy around you. A great place for a picnic, nap in the sun, quiet reading spot, or good old fashioned people watching.
